Mr. Hurbert Etheridge
Hubert Etheridge Sr. was born on December 6, 1933 to the late John Etheridge and Daphnia Oliver Etheridge in Conecuh County, Alabama. He attended and graduated from Conecuh County School System. He departed this life at his home on the morning of June 8, 2015.
On July 9, 1954, Hubert married the woman of his dreams, Gazell Johnson Etheridge (he was 20 years old and she was 16). They were married for nearly 60 years. To this union three children were born (all in the month of August). Hubert accepted Christ at an early age and in the footsteps of his wife, he was saved, sanctified and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He served as Senior Deacon at Johnsonville Memorial Church of God In Christ.
Hubert worked for many years at Steven Roberts before joining the Alabama State Trooper Post in Evergreen, Alabama where he served and retired as Supervisor of Communications after more than 20 years of service.
Preceding him in death was his son, Hubert Etheridge Jr.
Sharing in his memories are his loving wife, Gazell Etheridge of Evergreen, AL; children, Henry (Martha) Etheridge of Evergreen, AL and Linda (Marvin) Johnson of Brewton, AL; sisters, Annie Ruth Etheridge of Century, FL and Irene Williams of Brewton, AL; grandchildren, Alisha (Marvin) Kiser of Brewton, AL, Demetrius (Kimberly) Etheridge of Birmingham, AL, Brian Etheridge of Atlanta, GA, Dominique (Tangia) Etheridge of Youngstown, OH, DeAndria Etheridge of Panama City, FL, Kyndra Johnson of Montgomery, AL and Tiffany Etheridge of Huntsville, AL; great grandchildren, Khalil Wallace, Marvin Kiser Jr., Myles Hubert James Kiser and Mia Gazell Kiser, Brewton, AL and Sumarri Brown of Huntsville, AL; sisters-in-law, Annie Lois Etheridge of Evergreen, AL and Emma Jean House of Pensacola, FL; brothers-in-law, Clausell Johnson of Toledo, OH, Ed Neal Johnson, Andrew Lee, both of Pensacola, FL
and Alford Lee of Mobile, AL; three special caregivers, Darly Curry, Tracie Dees and Crystal Barton Grace, all of Brewton, AL; additional extended family, all of West Gate Village, Brewton, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
