Mr. Charles Taliaferro
Mr. Charles Taliaferro was born to the late Mr. Clanford Taliaferro and the late Mary Lee Duncan on June 30, 1932. He departed this life on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Pleasant Taliaferro; a sister, Ollie Mae Tolliver; a grandson, Antonio S. Taliaferro; and a great-granddaughter, Sherrail Alexander.
He met and married the love of his life Mary Ann Pleasant. They were married for 33 years, until her passing.
Charlie accepted Christ and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his death.
He was affectionately called “Sweet Charlie Boy” by family and friends. Sweet Charlie Boy loved fishing, hunting, and farming, but his favorite was wildlife.
He left Conecuh County at an early age and lived in various places before he settled in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was employed by The American Beef Packaging Company, and retired from the Duncan Hines Company after fifteen years.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Sheila Taliaferro of Omaha, Nebraska; one step-daughter, Patricia Coverson of Evergreen, Alabama; one step-son, Larry (Sharon) Pleasant of Mobile, Alabama; and Trenda Clark (whom he raised like a daughter) of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Othello Taliaferro and Mary Helen Taliaferro of Evergreen, Alabama, Alice Kelly of Niagara Falls, Nevada; one sister-in-law, Emma Grooms of Omaha, Nebraska; a dear caring friend, Dorothy Stanton of Evergreen, Alabama; two devoted nieces: Cynthia Tolliver and Brenda Tolliver-Jones; special friends and cousins, Otis Meeks, Calvin Taliaferro, Charlie Covington, and Charles Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
