Mr. James L. Raspberry
James L. Raspberry was born on April 5, 1924 to the late George and Cynthia Raspberry.
James confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sweet Bethel Baptist Church in Coden, Alabama. From that moment on he walked with Christ.
Later he was consecrated a Deacon at the Greater Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of James C. Blackburn in Buffalo, New York.
James and his wife, Bessie, united with Unity in Christ Outreach Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Nevlous Sr. where they served as dedicated members to the church as well as their pastor.
James passed from labor to reward on June 16, 2013. He left behind a loving and dedicated wife, Bessie M. Raspberry; his children, Gloria Beverly, William (Pam) Raspberry and Ronnie (Loretta) Raspberry; grandchildren; great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives (Beverly) and friends.
He was preceded in death by three daughters, Mary Ann Young, Cynthia Washington and Linda Raspberry. He was also preceded by seven brothers and sisters, Vaughcille Raspberry Hill, George Raspberry, Lena Gaines, Lucille Bell, Margaret Moore, Jerome Raspberry and Cynthia Williams.
James L. Raspberry lived no ordinary life. It was a life well-lived and well-loved, a life that will be deeply missed.
