Mr. John Henry Goodson
The late John Henry Goodson was born April 7, 1937 to the late Mark and Gertrude Goodson in Castleberry, Alabama. He departed this life here on earth on Friday, December 14, 2018.
John attended school in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the age of 16 John joined the United States Marines. After returning home he started roofing jobs and continued until 1987.
He enjoyed a long day of fishing and a trip to the casino. John was also a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Mr. Goodson leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Theresa Goodson of Evergreen, AL; three daughters, Jennifer Johnson and Evelyn Young, both of Cincinnati, OH and Brandy (Jazmone) Portis of Montgomery, AL; three sons, John Clark, David Clark, both of Cincinnati, OH and John Goodson Jr. of Evergreen, AL; three step-daughters, Regina Adams of Evergreen, AL, Lisa Clark and Kim Clark, both of Cincinnati, OH; two step-sons, Darvin and Dominique Mims, both of Lansing, MI; one brother, Leon Goodson of Rochester, NY; a very special young man who was like a son, Sedric (Kendra) Likely of Evergreen, AL; a special friend, Valerie Likely of Evergreen, AL and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
We gratefully acknowledge all expressions of love extended to us during our beloved John’s homegoing. We sincerely thank you for your prayers, which have warmed our hearts. The thought of every card, phone call, visit, and expression of kindness and sympathy added a touch of beauty. Please continue to keep us in your prayers and may God’s blessings forever shine on each of you! Special thanks are extended to Hospice Care.
