Mr. Robert A. Hollinger
Mr. Robert Angelo Hollinger was born on October 24, 1949 to the late Robert A. Hollinger and Lillie P. Hollinger in Daphne, Alabama. He was the oldest of six children. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon Sylvester Hollinger.
He joined the Belleville Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. James Noble. He attended the Conecuh County School System where he graduated from the Conecuh County Training School in 1968. He then was drafted in to the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War and received his Honorable Discharge.
He relocated to Delaware and worked a number of years for Dupont before moving back to Alabama. He worked as a security guard in Alexander City, Alabama until his health began to fail.
He leaves to cherish his memories a close friend: Johnnie Mae Parker; two sons: Tyrone Sidney Smiley and Rex Alexander Smiley, Opelika, AL; one daughter: Regina James, Opelika, AL; two sisters: Mary Hollinger, Belleville, AL and Linda Hollinger, Mine Hill, NJ; two brothers: James (Dorothy) Hollinger, Peterman, AL and Kenneth (Brenda) Hollinger, Clarksville, TN an adopted sister: Emma Rudolph, Brewton, AL; three aunts: Qussie Perry, Delaware, Bessie Nettles, Brewton, AL, Ariea Rudolph, Mobile, AL; two uncles: Willie Rudolph and Daniel McQueen, Castleberry, AL, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
