Mr. Robert Lee Stallworth
Robert Lee Stallworth was born on August 21, 1945 to the late Matthew Stallworth and Mamie V. Stallworth in Conecuh County, Alabama. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his residence. Preceding him in death are his father and sisters, Mary Bell Lowery, Geraldine Stallworth, Minnie Lee Taylor and Hattie Mae Grace.
Robert joined Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Cotton at an early age. He was educated at the Conecuh County Training School. He was employed by Bud Waters and Jack Baggett as a Logger early in his life and continued logging for 51 years.
Robert was married to Verna Lett-Stallworth in June of 1976. Of his many sayings, his favorite saying was, “Scottie…NOOooooooo!!!” His favorite sport was football and ROLL TIDE, ALABAMA was his favorite college team. He also enjoyed wrestling and baseball. Robert had many special people in his life, only a few are named below.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories three loving children, Carolyn Brooks (Alonzo) of Huntsville, AL; a son, Randy Stallworth of Troy, AL and a loving and devoted daughter, Moneke Latasha Nelms of Evergreen, AL; one loving step-daughter, Melissa Lett of Nichburg, AL; a very loving and devoted mother, Mamie V. Stallworth of Evergreen, AL; seven loving grand- children, two special, Damarria Nelms and Kiana King, both of Evergreen, AL, Dominique Brooks, Alonzo C. Brooks, Stephan Brooks, all of Huntsville, AL, Zarius Willis and Devin Evans, both of Nichburg, AL; one great grandchild, Jasmine Stallworth of Troy, AL; four loving sisters, Clady Mae Carter (Maple) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Georgia Mae Baker (devoted) of Evergreen, AL, Dorothy T. Stallworth (special, loving and devoted) of Evergreen, AL and Margie Salter (Aubrey Lee) of Nichburg, AL; three loving brothers, Matthew Stallworth Jr. (Doris) of Buffalo, NY, Joshua Stallworth of Monroeville, AL and Willie Lee Stallworth of Belleville, AL and a host of nieces and nephews, many loving cousins, relatives and friends. He also leaves a special friend for 34 years, Margie Nelms of Nichburg, AL and two special, caring, devoted and loving nieces, Jill Willis and Christine Carter.
