Mr. Shelton A. Lark, Sr.
Shelton Arthur Lark Sr. was born February 20, 1944 to Joseph and Zelma Lark in Evergreen, Alabama. He was the fifth of thirteen children.
Shelton attended Conecuh County Training School, class of 1962. He was a trumpet player in the Eagles Marching Band. He was a certified electrician and plumber.
At an early age Shelton joined Old Field AME Zion Church. Later he joined Unity In Christ Outreach Ministries, where he served on the Trustee Board and sang on the Praise and Worship Team and in the choir.
He loved to sing and during his lifetime he sung in several gospel groups. He loved people and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Mazio, Alphonso, Joseph and Robert Lark.
Shelton leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Annette Lark of Evergreen, AL; two sons, Shaun (Bridget) of Brewton, AL and Shelton Jr. of Evergreen, AL; one daughter, Tonya (Michael) of Evergreen, AL; two grandchildren, Peyton and ShaQuayla; one brother, Curtis (Sherry) Lark of Columbus, GA; seven sisters, Ida (Arnold) Harvey of Randolph, MA, Velma (Larry) Kyser of Lansing, MI, Shirley Tutt of Farmington, MI, Josephine (Harold) Thompson, Esther (Donald) Evans, Annie Pearl (Charles) Thomas and Barbara Johnson, all of Evergreen, AL; a mother-in-law, Ellen Holt of Evergreen, AL; two brothers-in-law, Robert Lee of Evergreen, AL and Edward Lee of Newnan, GA; a devoted cousin, Pastor Eva McIntyre and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
The family of the late Shelton Lark Sr. would like to thank everyone for the acts of love and kindness shown during the passing of their loved one. Special thanks to Dr. Yearwood and staff, Mobile Heart Specialists, Evergreen Nursing Home, and Evergreen Medical Center.
