Mr. Talmus Philyaw

Talmus Lorenzo Philyaw was born on June 9, 1963 in Evergreen, Alabama. Talmus was the oldest of four children. Talmus confessed Christ at an early age at Jerusalem No. 1 Baptist Church and served as Deacon, Church Treasurer, and other capacities in the church. He received his education in the Conecuh County school system of Evergreen, Alabama where he received his high school diploma. He attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. He was actively employed by Emerald Valley Manor as Maintenance Supervisor. He was preceded by his Grandfather, Deacon Willie Philyaw, Sr., Aunt Juanita Philyaw Gillespie, and Uncle Willie Philyaw, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted Mother and Father, William and Betty Shaw, two brothers William Shaw, Jr. and Kenneth Shaw of Wyandanch, New York, and one Sister Pamela Shaw Wilkerson (Roosevelt) of Deer Park, New York; Four Nieces Lakia Chantal Wilkerson, Sydne Jean Wilkerson, Vasilia Diamond Shaw, and Katura Shaw, two Great Nieces Lazelle Shantel Wilkerson and Guitori Georigia Howell and one Great Nephew Sylis Toni Howell. In addition a loving sweet Grandmother, Willie Mae Philyaw of Montgomery, Alabama. Three devoted uncles Charles Philyaw of Evergreen, Alabama, John Philyaw, and Larry Philyaw (Callie) of Montgomery, Alabama. Two devoted aunts Annie Allen of Decatur, Georgia, and Louise Barr of Miami, Florida, three Great Aunts, Rosa Belle Darden, Vinnie Finklea, and Sarah Watts, and a host of cousins and friends. A special friend Mary Juanita Mixon.
