Mrs. Sarah B. Mixon
Sarah Bell Mixon was born on March 25, 1941 to the late Emery Mitchell and Mary Carter in Conecuh County. On Saturday, February 13, 2021 Sarah was called from labor to rest by our Heavenly Father in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Mary Mitchell; husband, Roosevelt Mixon Sr.; Daughter, Betty Carol Mixon and siblings, Mattie, Pete, Douglas, Joseph, Shelton, Joel, Marlene, Charles and Barbara.
She was united into Holy Matrimony to Roosevelt Mixon and eight children were born to this union.
Sarah attended the Conecuh County School System. She joined First Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she later served as Senior Choir President for many years. She was a very faithful and dedicated member. Her passion was singing, shouting and praising the Lord. She loved the Lord and the Church. Sarah had a compassion for mankind.
She enjoyed her vegetable garden and her flowers. She was known for her baking. Everyone loved her pound cakes and pies. Sarah worked for Knud Nielsen Co. (Evergreen, AL) for many years, then retired. She helped trained many new employees.
Sarah loved people and she loved her family. The joy of her life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family gatherings on occasions, brightened up her day. She also had special love for her nieces and nephews.
She leaved her cherished memories to her children, JoAnn (Antonio Sr.) Woods, Mary Jean Mixon, Roosevelt Mixon Jr., Jimmy (Jackie) Mixon, Joe (Cynthia) Mixon, Curtis (Miranda) Mixon and Steven Mixon; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Eulean Mitchell, Etherlene Salter and Dosha Mixon; one brother-in-law, Zeno (Dosha) Mixon; a special niece, Mert Gates of Mobile, AL; special friends, Jeanette, Juanita, Wilmer and Shirley and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family of the late Sarah Bell Mixon would like to express their gratitude for your acts of kindness shown during the loss of our loved one. There are no words to express our thanks.
