Ms. Allie Showden Moody
Allie B. Snowden Moody passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Linwood Moody. Allie was born in Escambia County, Alabama and received her early education in Andalusia, Alabama.
She joined the church at an early age while in the care of her God Parents Rev. and Mrs. K. C. Bass.
She received her education degree from Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama. She later received the AA Teacher Certification from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. She was a dedicated educator. She taught in three Alabama school Systems: Lanett, Andalusia, and Brewton. She retired with over thirty years of teaching experience. She was a member of the Alabama Teachers Association and National Educators Association. As a teacher, she was a role model and example of what every teacher should be. She loved to travel and always pursued knowledge.
She was preceded in death by all her siblings and became the matriarch of the family nurturing her nieces and nephews. She loved them dearly and took great pride in their accomplishments. She was a devoted member of Second St. John Baptist Church where she served as a faithful wife of a Deacon. She loved and was devoted to her pastor. Survivors include nieces, nephews, special caregivers, and friends.
