Ms. Chelsea B. Redmon
Chelsea Bernisha Redmon, one of God’s faithful and dedicated servants was called home to rest, Sunday, August 25, 2019. She was born on February 3, 1993 to Kimberly Redmon and Tommy Lewis Sr. Chelsea was a life-long resident of Brewton, Alabama (a community she loved). She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was a devoted member of Christ Kingdom Ministry Center.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lorene Redmon Tobias and grandfather, Wendell McQueen. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother and father and her grandmother, Dollie Binion (Robert); one brother, Tommy Lewis Jr.; nephew, Zylon Odom; god-daughter, Malaysia Farrish; god-brother, Kyrie McCreary; great-great aunt, Mrs. Opal Redmon Dixon of Birmingham, AL; uncles: Jesse (Phyllis) Redmon, Kenneth (Carrie) Redmon, Jeffrey Redmon, all of Brewton, AL, Alfred Lewis Williams of Valdosta, GA, Greg and James Lewis of Brewton, AL; aunts: Vivian Redmon of Montgomery, AL, Felesha (Lisa Butler) Redmon of Saint Paul, MN, Dr. Marilyn Nicholson, Glennie (James ‘Dre’) Carter, Clara Barton, Minnie Riley, all of Brewton, AL and Sally Redmon Boyd of Baton Rouge, LA, Pollie Rosemore of Pensacola, FL, Lula Mae Shockley of Gulfport, MS; her “other mother”, Voncille Monroe “Mama Cille”; a devoted sister-cousin, Amber Redmon, the rest of her cousins, Crew-Micah McKinney, Haleigh and Kelseigh Redmon, Martez Redmon, and Moriah Smith, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Among those who held a sibling place in her heart--Neisha McGee, Victoria and Shakeena Bradley, and SaMonya Stallworth.
Strong-willed and determined, a true fighter; Chelsea loved people especially children and devoted her life to their care. She was a childcare teacher at Peace & Joy Daycare and a substitute teacher at Brewton Elementary School and W. S. Neal High School. Chelsea was a 2011 graduate of T. R. Miller High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She received both the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Degrees from Coastal Alabama Community College. Her beautiful heart, radiant spirit and warm smile touched many lives and allowed her to leave her legacy written in the hearts of many in the Brewton Community and beyond.
