Ms. Dollie Maude Holt
Miss Dollie Maude Holt “Dot” was born April 17, 1943 in Conecuh County, Evergreen, Alabama to the late Donnie Lee and Josephine Trone Holt; in which, they both preceded her in death. She was called Home to eternal rest April 5, 2014 at 2:20 p.m. at D. W. McMillian Hospital in Brewton, Alabama.
She was a member of First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed at a very young age and a tenant at the V.O.A. in Brewton, Alabama for many years. Dollie attended Conecuh County Training School in Evergreen, AL. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength to her family and her V.O.A. family of which she loved very much. Dollie comes from a family of musical and singing. All of her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews singing, eating, dancing, shopping and good music was some of her favorite hobbies. Dollie will always be loved by her family and V.O.A. family and was very dedicated to them in mind and spirit. Dollie was a descendant of the Chief Farrow head of the Choctaw Indians as well as her sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts and family tree.
Dollie leaves to cherish her memories two loving and dedicated sisters, Josephine Holt of Evergreen, AL and Doris Holt Payne of Meridian, MS; five brothers, Henry Lewis (Francis) Holt, both of Evergreen, AL, Edward Lee (Yvonne) Holt of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Eddie G. Holt, Curtis Holt, both of Birmingham, AL and David Holt of Meridian, MS; two loving aunts, Mrs. Emma Fulford of Birmingham, AL and Mrs. Gloria Allen of Thomasville, AL; a host of nieces and nephews; a host of great nieces and nephews; eleven devoted, George Holt, Grantland Holt, Henry Holt Jr., Eduardo Thomas, Joe Shannon (David) Kimble, all of Evergreen, AL, Kashandri Thomas of Brewton, AL, Edward Z. (Taliea) Thomas, Shylan Thomas of Montgomery, AL, Terry Holt of Orlando, FL, Thsheyla (Keith Jr.) Gantt of Ft. Campbell, KY, Shawder (Knight) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a big host of cousins, extended step-sisters and brothers, family and friends. The circle has been broken once again, but the Lord will mend it back with His cultivating love.
The family of the late Dollie Maude Holt extends their deepest gratitude to all for the many random acts of kindness and sympathy shown during their time of “Our Broken Chain”. With deep appreciation for your phone calls, cards, visits, floral tributes, prayers, resolutions and the other many expressions of love shown during the illness and passing of Dollie. We send special thanks to the Volunteers of America in Brewton, AL workers and staff; also, Westgate Village nurses, friends and staff.
