Ms. Ezzie D. Royster
Ezzie Dell Royster was born to the late Clem and Willie Reynolds on July 19, 1922 in Conecuh County. She was received into Heaven on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Preceding her in death were two children: Fred Royster and Brenda Royster Roberson; grandsons: Darryl Rogers Sr. and Adolph Briggs Jr.
She was educated in the Public School System of Conecuh County.
She joined Pleasant Grove AME Zion Methodist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member all of her life. Throughout her life, she was also faithful about reciting poems at various churches.
She was married to Fred Douglas Royster. To this union, five children were born. She was a dedicated housewife and a loving mother. She loved baking potato pies, egg custard pies, and cooking dumplings. Through her missionary work, she began the “Sock Mission” in the Methodist Church and delivered socks to the incarcerated. She also fed anyone that came along.
She leaves to cherish her many memories, children: Geraldine Mims, Evergreen, AL, Shirley (Adolph) Briggs, Mansfield, Ohio, Denise (Wesley) McCorvey, Evergreen, AL, Lillie (devoted niece), Jack (Jackie) grandson, whom she raised as her own, Evergreen, AL; grandchildren: Jason Briggs, David (Samantha) McCorvey, and Brandi Roberson; great-grandchildren: Darrisha Garrett, Niya Rogers, Candace Carter, Jasmine (Reggie) Robinson, Darryl Rogers Jr., Shakira Briggs, Nyasia Briggs, Yasmeen Briggs, Amarri Rudolph, Sylias Rudolph, and Shannon McCorvey; great-great grandchildren: Madisyn Carter, Peyton Carter, Taylor Carter, and Gabriel Robinson; brother, John David Reynolds; sisters: Evelyn Walker and Mattie Cooper; along with a host of other acquaintances and friends.
