Ms. Pamela D. Powell
A Time to be Born:
The Season of life for Pamela Delaine Powell affectionately called Pam by all that knew her began November 20, 1952. She was the baby of nine children born to the late Willie Australia and Mattie Louise Hinson Powell of Brewton, AL.
A Time to Accept:
Pam accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served in various capacities. She was an avid singer in her church and community. Pam served as a song leader, soloist, president and secretary of the choir. She faithfully served for many years as the church clerk and president of the Missionary Society. Pam loved her church and church family. It was her greatest joy to sing and help others. She was active member of Lilly Chapter #592 Order of Easter Stars until her health failed. She was avid member of the Evergreen District Association Missionary Department. She served in a number of positions; Vice-President, Field Worker and Secretary.
A Time to Serve:
Pam worked for over 33 years at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital. She retired in 2014 when her health began to fail.
A Time to Love:
Pam loved her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to shop and buy for grand and great grandchildren. It was her joy in life to spoil all of her “babies”. Pam had a great love of people. She embraced life to the fullest. She lived for precious moments with her family and friends. It was not uncommon for her to pick up the phone and call her friends several times throughout the day. She always looked forwarded to the Hinson Family Reunion.
A Time to Transition:
Pam did what she loved to do the best attend church. On the morning of June 30, 2019, Pam attended church looking radiant and beautiful full of smiles and laughter. But the Lord saw fit for this to be her last day on Earth. God sent his angels to carry Pam to her eternal home where she can sing in Heavens choir and attend “church” all day long.
