Ms. Phyllis Jean Parkman
We celebrate the life of Phyllis Jean Parkman. Phyllis was born May 17, 1951 in Pensacola, Florida to Allen and Corlere Curry. Phyllis is the second of seven children from Mr. and Mrs. Curry.
After high school Phyllis joined the Peace Corp doing what she loved most, helping others. After two years in the Peace Corp she applied to Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA to become a doctor. She was accepted at Harvard Medical School and started her journey. Shortly after, she met her husband of 25 years and started a family. Phyllis settled for becoming a nurse at Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Phyllis had a heart for family, friends and the community.
Phyllis birth and raised five children of her own in this order: Melissa Parkman, Arthur Ray Parkman Jr. Windy Parkman, Kimberly Johnson (Jollan Johnson) and Erika Rogers (Sedrick Rogers).
Out of one woman came an abundance of grandchildren: Melissa Parkman (daughter), Kevin Smith, Malik and Anthony Steen and Timothy and Jonathyn Gray; Arthur Ray Parkman Jr. (son), Althena Rae Parkman; Windy Parkman (daughter), Shyanna Parkman, Demorris and Jamaria Oliver; Kimberly Johnson (daughter), Sierra, Jamel and Aaliya Parkman; Erika Rogers (daughter) Trinity Parkman and Jamal Sarane.
Phyllis has five great grandchildren, Jaylen, Khaidon, Harmony, Alanaha, Steen and Karter Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Curry; two sisters, Ethel Houston and Belinda McKinney; her granddaughter, Trinithy Parkman and her great grandson, Jaylen Steen.
Phyllis leaves behind her five children; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her mother, Corlere Curry; two sisters, Brenda Houston and Renee Walker; two brothers, Albert Houston and Troy Curry and an abundance of other family members and friends. Phyllis was very well loved by anyone who met her.
