Ms. Nebertha Matthews
NEBERTHA “SQUEAKY” MATTHEW, was born March 11, 1960 in Evergreen, Alabama to the late J. D. and Leola Nared. She exchanged her earthly life for eternity on June 5, 2015 at her home in Herbert, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest D. Nared.
Nebertha confessed her life to Christ at an early age, and was a member of the S. John Missionary Baptist Church.
She united in Holy Matrimony to Warren Matthew in 1979. This union was blessed with four children.
Sister Nebertha was an active member of the St. John Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Choir Director, President of the Usher Board and Deaconess Board, a Member of the Inspiration Choir and the Beautification Ministry.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, her husband, Warren Matthew, of Evergreen, AL; her children: Ernest Dewayne Nared, Norcross, GA, Benjamin O’Neal Matthew, Mansfield, OH, Lakeisha (Demario) Smith, Lawton, OK, Ithemesia Mascha Matthew, Evergreen, AL; six grandchildren: Diamond Jones, Ezekiele Matthew, Henry Elijah Jones, Jaeda Matthew, Arie Jones, Simihriah Jackson; five brothers: Leon (Mary) Nared, Edward Nared, Jimmy Nared, all of Evergreen, AL, Lee (Juanita) Nared, Mansfield, OH, John Nared, Jr., Manhattan, NY; three sisters: Mae Retta Lane, Mae Zellia (Willie) Lane, Iola (Larry) Riley; aunt, Daisy Hill, Queen, NY; uncle, Kenney Nared, Long Island, NY; god-sister, Verna Sanders; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
